What Works Best in the Office
The main difference from a home celebration is that the cake is cut on the fly, often without a knife or plates, and eaten standing up. That’s why convenience matters more than sophistication here: the cake should slice evenly, not drip, and not fall apart on the napkin.
Dense cakes with a distinct structure work well—such as “Napoleon,” “Kyiv,” “Esterházy,” “Brownie,” “Chocolate-Nut,” and caramel-coffee. They cut cleanly and don’t ooze onto the napkin.
If it’s a buffet-style table and no one will be cutting the cake, there’s another option—individual desserts in glasses, éclairs, and cookies. You can’t order them individually on the website, but we’ll put together a selection specifically for a buffet: just let us know the number of guests, and we’ll calculate the quantities.
How Much to Order for a Group
For cake, allow one serving per person plus a 15–20 percent buffer: people tend to eat more at a corporate party than at home. For twenty people, that’s about 3.5–4 kg; it’s more convenient to have two or three cakes of different flavors.
If it’s a buffet-style table and there’s more than one dessert option, one serving per person is enough.
Flavors to Be Cautious About
In a large group, there are always those who don’t eat nuts and those who don’t drink alcohol. It’s best to order cakes with rum or liqueur and cakes with nuts as extras, and serve a neutral cake as the main option.
